The Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) held an official signing ceremony for its membership in the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI). This came during a meeting that brought together the Governor of SAMA, Dr. Ahmad bin Abdul Karim Al Kholify, and His Excellency Sheikh / Ibrahim bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions, at the headquarters of the SAMA in the city of Riyadh this day on Safar 2, 1439 AH corresponding to October 22, 2017 AD.

                SAMA entrance to the membership of the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions comes as part of the institution's efforts to strengthen its regional and international relations with bodies and institutions working in the field of developing the Islamic finance industry and to benefit from the latest international experiences and practices in related fields, through its membership in a number of regional and international  organizations.

                It is worth noting that the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions includes in its membership more than (164) bodies, including central banks, regulatory authorities, financial institutions, accounting and auditing firms, and legal offices in more than (45) countries. This membership is granted by SAMA. Saudi Arabia has the opportunity to learn more about the international experiences of these entities by participating in the workshops and events held by the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions.
