The second issue of banknotes was introduced into circulation during the era of King Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. It comprised five denominations: 100 riyals, 50 riyals, ten riyals, five riyals, and one riyal. This issue was released on 15/11/1387H, corresponding to 13/03/1968. ​

100 Riyals Note
  • Obverse:
  • Contains a picture of the Council of Ministers’ office building in Riyadh and Saudi Arabia’s emblem. At the top appear the name of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency in Arabic; the number and date of the Royal Decree by virtue of which the note was issued; the name of King Faisal; and the value of the note in Arabic letters and numerals. The security thread and the watermark are on the le​ft side of the note. The lower half shows SAMA’s undertaking to pay the value of the note, along with the serial number and the signatures of the Minister of Finance and the Governor of SAMA.​
  • Reverse:
  • Contains a picture of the Aramco Refinery. At the top appears the name of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency in English, and at the bottom is the value of the note in English letters and numerals.
100 Riyal Note Size and Color: (176 mm x 82 mm), Red
 
50 Riyals Note
  • Obverse:
  • Contains Saudi Arabia’s emblem, at the center, with SAMA’s undertaking to pay the value of the note. The value of the note is beneath the emblem in Arabic, with the signatures of the Minister of Finance and the Governor of SAMA. In the top frame appear the name of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency; the number and date of the Royal Decree by virtue of which the note was issued; and the name of King Faisal in Arabic. To the right appears an interior view of the Prophet’s Mosque. To the left of the note appear the watermark, security thread, and serial number.
  • Reverse:
  • At the center of the note appears an image representing one of the farms in Al-Kharj Governorate. Above it is the name of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency in Arabic, while below it is the value of the note in English. To the left of the note appears the emblem of Saudi Arabia.
The 50 Riyal Note Size and Color: (170 mm x 78 mm), Brown
 
Ten Riyals Note
  • Obverse:
  • A picture of the Grand Mosque of Makkah is at the center of the note. At the top of the note appear the name of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency in Arabic; the signatures of the Minister of Finance and the Governor of SAMA; the number and date of the Royal Decree by virtue of which the note was issued; the name of King Faisal; and SAMA’s undertaking to pay the value of the note. On the left side of the note are the watermark and security thread, above which is the serial number. Beneath it appears the value of the note in Arabic.
  • Reverse:
  • The reverse depicts an image of the outer wall of Al-Masaa. Above it is the name of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency in English, with the emblem of Saudi Arabia in the upper right corner. At the bottom appears the value of the note in English.
The 10 Riyal Note Size and Color: (158 mm x 70 mm), Blue
 
Five Riyals Note
  • Obverse:
  • Contains a picture of Dhahran Airport in the center, with the value of the note below it in Arabic. At the top of the note appear the name of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency; the number and date of the Royal Decree by virtue of which the note was issued; the name of King Faisal; and SAMA’s undertaking to pay the value of the note in Arabic. On the left side of the note appear the watermark and the security thread. The serial number is given at the bottom of the note, along with the signatures of the Minister of Finance and the Governor of SAMA.
  • Reverse:
  • Contains a picture depicting  Dammam Sea Port, atop which is the name of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency in English. In the right corner is Saudi Arabia’s emblem, and the value of the note is at the bottom in English.
The 5 Riyal Note Size: (146 mm x 66 mm), Main Color: Green
 
One Riyal Note​
  • ​Obverse:
  • A rectangle with a picture representing the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jeddah. At the top of the rectangle appear the name of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency; the number and date of the Royal Decree by virtue of which the note was issued; the name of King Faisal; and SAMA’s undertaking to pay the value of the note in Arabic. The value of the note is given at the bottom in Arabic. In the lower half also appear the serial number and the signatures of the Minister of Finance and the Governor of SAMA. The watermark and the security thread are on the right side of the note.
  • Reverse:
  • At the center is Saudi Arabia’s emblem, inside an arch. The name of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency is shown above it in English. At the bottom is the value of the note in English.
