H.E the Governor of the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA), Ayman Alsayari, described the celebration of "Flag Day" in Saudi Arabia as an epitome of the importance the leadership attaches to the symbolism of the flag and its significant connotations. It represents a major component of the national identity. Alsayari further noted that the occasion highlights the value the Saudi flag carries through the history of the Saudi state since its founding to this day.
His Excellency added: "This occasion consolidates the interest and keenness of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to celebrate occasions that signify national unity."
Concluding his statement, Alsayari said: "Celebrating Flag Day on the 11th of March reinforces our sense of pride in our national identity, and is an important opportunity to appreciate the country's historical depth. May Allah protect our homeland and perpetuate unity among us."
