On behalf of the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA), H.E. Fahad Abdullah Almubarak, governor of SAMA congratulated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense and conveyed congratulations to the Saudi people on the occasion of the 91st Saudi National Day.
Almubarak stressed that the National Day has a great impact on the people of this precious country, highlighting the historical achievements, values and noble principles that have accompanied the uniting of this great country by the late founding King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, may Allah rest his soul in peace.
Commenting on the occasion, Almubarak pointed out that since its inception in 1952, under the guidance of the wise leadership, SAMA has been striving to play an active role in maintaining monetary and financial stability, which, thank Allah, has contributed towards supporting the national economy. He added: "SAMA aims to support the realization of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 through the Financial Sector Development Program, which will contribute to the development process, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and HRH the Crown Prince. This includes the initiatives undertaken by SAMA during the past period, i.e., the launch of the first phase of the "SARIE" immediate payment system aimed at improving the national payment system and promoting financial inclusion. Furthermore, The Declaration of Open Banking Principles will also contribute towards increased competition, innovative services and efficiency in banking systems. In addition to licensing a number of (12) financial institutions, including two local digital banks, two branches of two foreign banks and the office of a global company for actuarial and advisory services, this underscores the attractiveness of investment in the Saudi economy, as well as future immense growth potentials."
Concluding his statement, H.E. Almubarak said: "We ask the Almighty Allah to preserve this country's security and stability, and to bless the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his Crown Prince, who remains loyal and committed to realizing the welfare of this beloved nation."
