Program Guidelines:

1. Each research team must consist of no more than three researchers, at least one of whom must be from SAMA and one of the external researchers must be specialized in economics.

2. Applicants must complete the (application form) and send it along with all required documents to:

3. SAMA will review all applications and select the best research ideas submitted in each area of study. The final candidates will be then contacted and the research teams will be formed.

4. The program covers 4 areas of study.

Areas of Study:

1. Macroeconomics:

(Inflation, GDP, private sector, foreign trade, labor market, investment, consumption, public finance sustainability, etc.)

2. Financial Sector:

(Fintech, banking, insurance, finance, risk management, payment systems, etc.)

3. Financial Stability:

(Macroprudential policy, virtual currencies, cyber risk, mortgage, bank credit, financial sector interlinkages, Non-bank financial intermediation, etc.)

4. Other economic issues

(Digitization, circular carbon economy, climate change, energy economics, knowledge economy, small and medium enterprises, etc.) 

Terms and conditions for participation:

• Researchers can only participate in the program with one research paper.

• Research ideas must be original; previously published research papers will not be accepted.

• Researchers must adhere to academic research ethics.

• The research paper must be written in Arabic or English. A translation of the research paper must be provided if requested.
  

• Researchers must comply with the deadlines set by SAMA and respond to the feedback provided by the research evaluation committee.

• Researchers must acknowledge and agree to SAMA's right to use the research paper in any way it deems appropriate. This includes publishing the research paper on SAMA's website and/or sharing the research paper with other parties.

• Researchers must not publish the research paper or any part thereof without obtaining prior approval from SAMA. 

Awards:

After the completion and submission of the research papers, SAMA will evaluate all submitted research papers. Cash awards will be granted to research teams by the decision of the Research Evaluation Committee. In addition, the best three research papers will win SAMA's award. 

Program Dates and Deadlines:

- Deadline for application submission: 30 / 04 / 2023.

- Deadline for research teams' formation: 31 / 05 / 2023.

- Deadline for research paper submission: 30 / 11 / 2023.
