Announcement for the non-commitment of some insurance companies to provide statutory discounts to some of their customers

In accordance with the supervisory role of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority in protecting the rights of the insured, SAMA implemented an integrated program that included inspecting companies, analyzing and studying all vehicle insurance documents issued by all insurance companies to ensure the extent of their commitment. It was found that some companies did not grant a deduction for the absence of claims or a deduction of loyalty to some of the insured persons entitled to those discounts, or they did not grant it in full due to technical errors or deficiencies in their work procedures. Accordingly, SAMA directed these companies to quickly correct their conditions and take all necessary measures to ensure that this does not recur. SAMA also imposed on those companies to communicate with customers and to refund the sums that were taken unjustly. SAMA will continue to follow up on the commitment of all insurance companies and will take appropriate regulatory measures in this regard.

SAMA calls on all the insured and the beneficiaries of the insurance to adhere to their rights always and hopes from the insured to ensure that they obtain their rightfully discount.  SAMA also urges to review the company in the event that the company does not respond. SAMA hopes not to hesitate to file a complaint with the Client Protection Department on SAMA website or by calling the toll-free number 8001256666.
