SAMA Organizes Awareness Lecture on Autism Spectrum Disorder

The Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) organizes awareness lecture on Autism Spectrum Disorder; and how to deal with it. The lecture that was titled "let's meet with them" took place at SAMA headquarter in Riyadh in cooperation with the association of families of Autism Charity. During the event, Dr. Ahmed Abdulkarim Alkholifey, Governor of SAMA, met with a number of members of the association.

SAMA initiative comes within the framework of its social responsibility to raise awareness about how to deal with children of autism and provide the necessary support for them. The lectured, which was attended by a big number of SAMA employees, dealt with aspects of autism spectrum disorder including definition, diagnosis, identification of causes, various symptoms as well as reviewing some cases of autistic children and adolescents especially those who have characteristics of autism and normal level of intelligence. The lecture reviewed common problematic behavior that they may experience while joining the community, in addition to be attentive to any early signs that to be observed by parents.

The lecture included a presentation of an experience of a mother with an autistic child where audience were given the opportunity to experience a situation similar to the real difficulties related to autism. On the sidelines of the lecture, a special corner was organized to display a range of gifted autistic children's products. At the end of the lecture, a number of members of the association of families of autistic charity went to the Museum of Currency at SAMA.
