The General Secretariat of the Committees of Banking and Financing Disputes and Violations announces the issuance of a royal order determining the approval of the rules of spatial jurisdiction of the Banking jurisdiction of the committees of banking and financing disputes and violations, in a step that comes from the leadership's keenness - may Alah protect him - to reduce and speed up procedures for litigants before these committees.
The General Secretariat clarified in a statement that these rules included provisions related to the spatial jurisdiction for the considering of the lawsuit filed by the plaintiff from other than the banking or financing entity against the bank or financing company, so that the client (the plaintiff) can file his lawsuit in his place of residence.
Likewise is the case when the lawsuit is filed by the banking or financing entity against its client (the defendant) a non-banking or financing entity, so that the case is considered in the client's place of residence. The rules also included spatial jurisdiction for cases in which the parties are a banking or financing entity, so that jurisdiction to hear the case is in the place of residence of the defendant
The general committee indicated that the rules defined the scope of specialization; the department (or departments) of the special committee departments in each of the city of Riyadh, Dammam, and the governorate of Jeddah. Riyadh department covers Riyadh, Qassim, Hail and Al-Jawf. Damam department covers eastern region and northern region. Jeddah department covers the area of Makkah, Madinah, Tabuk, Al-Baha, Aseer, Najran and Jazan.
