The Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) announces that banks operating in the Kingdom have completed all necessary arrangements and developed their technical systems; In implementation of the instructions to enable clients whom judicial decisions have been issued to seize their bank accounts to use various channels for the purpose of benefiting from the amounts excluded from the attached accounts. This includes points of sale, electronic banking services, purchases via the Internet and digital payments. It has also become available to those clients to use the channels mentioned above to benefit from the amounts excluded from the attached accounts such as the available percentage of the salary, and the amounts received from the Citizen Account program.

This step is an extension of what SAMA has previously done by coordination with the Ministry of Justice, to direct banks operating in the Kingdom to allow the use of ATM cards for clients whom judicial decisions are made against them to seize their bank accounts. This is in order to enable them to withdraw  the excluded cash, in addition to allowing the issuance and renewal of ATM cards since the third quarter of 2019.

SAMA invites all clients covered by these procedures to benefit from them, and in the event of encountering any challenges or difficulties related to cash withdrawal mechanisms or the use of other channels, please contact with the bank they deal with. Noting that a complaint can also be filed with the SAMA Consumer Protection Department through the "Sama Cares" website on the Internet, samacares.sa, or by calling the toll-free number 8001256666.
