​On the sidelines of Money 20/20 Middle East, Mr. Ayman Mr. Al-Sayari, Governor of the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) met with H.E. Dr. Abdulkader Husrieh, the Governor of the Central Bank of Syria on Monday, September 15, 2025, to explore the scope of mutual cooperation in financial services.

During the meeting, both sides discussed several topics of mutual interest, such as technical support and training related to banking supervision, fintech, payments, and monetary policy, as well as cooperation in regulating remittance transfers and strengthening supervision in the financial sector. Governors agreed to exchange communication and visits.

In addition, Dr. Husrieh held bilateral meetings with senior officials from Saudi Banks, exploring the scope of cooperation with the banking sector in Saudi Arabia.​
