Dr. Fahad bin Abdullah Al-Mubarak, Governor of SAMA, visited Al Bilad Bank branch that is dedicated for people with special needs and saw modern means used for providing banking services to people with disabilities such as blindness, deafness, muteness and impaired physical mobility. Dr. Al Mubarak praised this unique experience, which is considered the first of its kind in the Middle East and thanked the Bank's management for issuing a banking dictionary that translates banking terms into sign language.

He underscored that provision of sophisticated and secure banking services for people with special needs represents great significance for SAMA. Furthermore, he urged banks to disseminate and expand banking services for these people and to intensify their efforts in all arenas of social responsibility. Dr. Al-Mubarak referred to SAMA's endeavor to develop a legislative environment that supports people with special needs and preserves their rights across sectors subject to its supervision as one way to achieve financial inclusion for all segments of society.

On his part, Mr. Khaled Al-Jasser, CEO of Al Bilad Bank, during his visit to the branch, emphasized that this branch represents the first branch to realizing banking inclusion of people with special needs. At this moment, there is a pressing need to provide banking services for such people without the need for sign language interpreters, he added.

He stated that to better serve this society category, a banking dictionary has been issued, containing a translation of banking terms into sign language using videos and fixed images that will enable such people to understand each individual word and its meaning. This is the first sign language banking term dictionary of its kind in the Arab world.

Mr. Al-Jasser also said that Al Bilad Bank's awareness of its social responsibility and its care about these people valuable to everyone resulted in highly prioritizing the services given to them and adopting a motto that says ("Al Bilad" is our responsibility .. Your service is our priority).
