Subject: Working hours for banks during Eid Al-Adha Holidays for 1430 H.
In accordance with Article (16) of the Banking Control Law pertaining to bank holidays and business hours, SAMA announces that it has been decided that all banks and their branches operating in the Kingdom will cease their work as from the close of working hours on Wednesday 8/12/1430 H. (25/11/2009) until Wednesday 15/12/1430 H. (2/12/2009) (based on Umm Al-Qurah Calendar). Banks will resume their working on Saturday 18/12/1430 H. (5/12/2009).
As for seasonal branches and offices of banks in Makkah and Al-Madinah, the two cities of Hajj performers via air or sea and border exits, it has been decided that such branches and offices will remain open during the pilgrimage season including Thursdays and Fridays as long as there is a need for serving Hajj and Umrah performers and visitors.
SAMA emphasizes that it is important for banks to open some of their branches for certain periods during Eid Al-Adha Holidays in populated and crowded areas and in places where the need arises for dealing with banks, such as airports and various border exits. Banks are required to notify SAMA of the names of such branches and their working hours and inform the public of same through suitable means.
Finally, we would like to avail of this special occasion to congratulate you of Eid Al-Adha Almubark.
The Governor
Muhammad Bin Sulaiman Al-Jasser
